Smiles—   
masks worn to hide empty souls   
Hugs—   
embraces feigning loving devotion   
Laughter—   
covers of shrill condemnation and lies   
Closeness—   
disguises of endless discord   
Piety—   
prayers smugly offered for self-adulation   
 Family—   
actors preforming prescribed scripts
